Important Parameters of SWIR Camera(II)

Today, I will introduce another three important parameters for SWIR Camera, let’s begin~

1. Resolution:

It refers to the number of photosensitive pixels of the sensor, usually expressed in horizontal and vertical pixels. For example, a camera with a resolution of 640×512 means that there are 640 pixels in the horizontal direction and 512 pixels in the vertical direction. The higher the resolution, the finer the image.

2. Pixel size:

It refers to the size of a single pixel of the camera. The resolution is determined by the number of photosensitive elements of the sensor. One photosensitive element corresponds to one pixel. Therefore, the larger the resolution, the more photosensitive elements there are. The light-receiving surface of each photosensitive element is the size of the pixel.

3. Active Area:

Active Area refers to the size of the area in the camera sensor that actually participates in imaging, usually the multiply of the pixel size and the number of pixels.
